Statement of Referendum Results.
This statement has been prepared and completed by the electoral officer following the closing of the vote and completion of the accounting of ballots for the Akers Nominal Rent Referendum Vote on June 23, 2026.
Referendum question:
With respect to the Akers 1 and Akers 2 lands, do you approve the head leases referenced in the “Blood Tribe Information Document Nominal Rent Referendum,” which contemplate Canada charging nominal rent of $1.00 with no rent reviews, and subsequent subleases with Blood Tribe entities for nominal rent $1.00 without rent reviews?
Number of electors who were entitled to vote: 8136
Number of electors who vote voted: 408
Number of votes cast in favour of the referendum question: 298
Number of votes cast against the referendum question: 136
Number of rejected ballots: 7

We, the undersigned, state that in the referendum held by the Blood Tribe for the Pre-Reserve Designation on Blood Indian Reserve No. 148 held on the 23rd day of June, 2026:
304 votes were given in favour of the question submitted in the referendum;
119 votes were given against the question submitted in the referendum; and
3 ballots were rejected
