Moses Lake:
- Moses Lake Little League Baseball registrations have begun. Visit the Moses Lake Gym on March 10th & 11th, 17th & 18th, 25th & 27th to sign – up. Little League will include T-Ball, Coach Pitch, and Co-Ed games. Game locations will be split between Moses Lake, Levern, and Piikani communities. - Little League practices will begin April 1st, 2025. Mondays and Wednesdays will feature T-Ball games. Tuesdays and Thursdays will feature Coach Pitch and Co-ed games.
- On March 29th, 2025, The Moses Lake Committee will host a Community Dance & Fundraiser from 6 – 10 pm. The dance will offer both pow-wow and contemporary music, so bring your dancing shoes and moccasins.
- The next Moses Lake Committee meeting will be held on March 26th, 2025, at 7 pm at the Moses Lake Gym.
Levern
- On Sunday March 30th, 2025, The Levern Community is hosting a Family Fun Day at Gladstone Hall. The event is free, and all ages are welcome. Tea and desserts will be served, and activities will be provided for kids.
- On May 19th, 2025, (Victoria Day Long-weekend) from 1 pm – 6 pm, The Levern Community will host their annual Track and Field Meet. This is an outdoor event and will be weather dependent. Please stay tuned to our website for further updates.
- The Blood Tribe Opioid Response will be hosting free Grief & Loss Workshops at Levern Hall on Thursdays in April: 10th, 17th, & 24th. Workshops will take place from 5 – 9 pm. Dr. Tail Feathers will lead group exercises aimed at helping individuals process grief and emotions in healthy ways. These workshops will be hosted in other communities in the months to follow. Standoff
- Volunteers are sought for May 2025 community clean-ups. The Standoff clean – up is scheduled for May 17th, 2025, in Moses Lake for May 24th, 2025, and in Levern for May 31st, 2025. All clean-ups will take place from 9 am – 3 pm. The Blood Tribe Opioid Response and workers from Blood Tribe Public Works will be on-site to assist with safe needle and sharps disposal. Community members are invited to help keep our communities safe and beautiful by coming out and participating.
- The next Blood Tribe Spay and Neuter Clinic for Pets will be held May 2nd – 4th at The Kainai Sports Centre. Animal drop-off will take place on Friday and Saturday. Treated animals can then be picked up on Sunday.
- The next Standoff Committee meeting will be held on March 26th, 2025, at 5 pm at The Kainai Multi-Purpose Building.

Animal Control Program Update:
- Blood Tribe Land Management (BTLM) will soon be training and transitioning their three existing Livestock Control Officers into Animal Control Officers. The team will then be responsible for enforcing the Stray Livestock Bylaw and the Animal Control Bylaw. BTLM is also in the process of establishing agreements with veterinarians in surrounding communities to help with the assessment (and possible disposal) of animals deemed dangerous to the public.
- The Director of Blood Tribe Land Management will bring forward the Stray Livestock Bylaw to Chief & Council later this spring. Once ratified, the new impound rates will take effect. Blood Tribe members who own Non-Visible Brand (NVB) animals will be given a 60-day notice to brand or tag their livestock. Please visit Blood Tribe Land Management office for information regarding brand registration.
- Lastly, community members are asked to contribute their part and help with the Animal Control Program by submitting documentation of all pets to the Blood Tribe Animal Control Database.
