Blood Tribe Olympic Athlete Apollo Hess Receives 2025 Tom Longboat Award

The Blood Tribe Administration would like congratulate Apollo Hess on being one of the 2025 Tom Longboat Award recipients, presented by The Aboriginal Sports Circle. Created in 1951, The Tom Longboat Award is one of the highest honours recognizing Indigenous excellence in sport in Canada. The awards include both men’s and women’s categories.
Apollo’s athleticism, discipline, and commitment to his sport have rightfully earned him this distinction. His ongoing success is a product of years of hard work and perseverance both in and out of the pool.
Apollo continues to inspire our youth and community through his example. He has demonstrated that with determination and passion our goals are in reach. We thank him for representing Kainai with pride and for being a positive role model for the next generation of athletes.
