Public Announcement: Blood Tribe Opioid Response Outreach Team
The Blood Tribe is taking strong, compassionate action in response to the opioid crisis by launching a new Opioid Response Outreach Team. This team is dedicated to supporting community members who are experiencing homelessness and those most impacted by substance use and the opioid epidemic.
We are proud to introduce our two frontline outreach workers:
Tammy Buckskin and Freddy Stabs Down
These committed team members will be working directly in the community to provide:
- Wellness checks
- Continuous, personalized recovery coaching
- Support encampment residents with compassionate outreach
- Crisis response, family connection, and economic stability
- Referrals to both on & off Support Services
- Support grounded in Blackfoot values and cultural connection
Tammy and Freddy will meet people where they are—whether in encampments, on the streets, or in remote areas—offering care, compassion, and connection without judgment. Their presence ensures that no one is left behind in our community’s healing journey.
This initiative is part of the Blood Tribe’s ongoing Opioid Response Strategy and reflects our deep commitment to wellness, safety, and cultural healing. By working together, we are creating a future where all members of our Nation are supported and valued. Freddy and Tammy will also support all Blood Tribe Departments & Entities.
