On September 30th for National Truth and Reconciliation, Lethbridge Sports Council and Lethbridge Polytechnic are collaborating on hosting the Buffalo Spirit Games in Lethbridge Alberta. All across Treaty 7, Indigenous people, newcomers and non-Indigenous neighbors will come together to recognize this day while also building new relationships through games, learning and conversation.
The event will include Tipi raising in the morning, Opening ceremonies, double ball and kickball, lacrosse tournament, 4k+7k run, Blackfoot Half Marathon, Blanket Exercise, 2K archery run, cultural activities and artisan market. Registration is open for the lacrosse tournament. There will be more registration for other activities such as double ball and kickball, the marathon and the Blanket exercise.
