Blood Tribe Chief and Councillors (Council) take this opportunity to address the issue of school transportation services for our children.
Developments arising from a revised model for facilitating access to education services including transportation services for students on and off the Reserve have necessitated adjustments to the administration of school transportation services.
As always, the safety, education, and well-being of our children remain our highest priorities. To prevent any disruption to student attendance and to maintain continuity of education services for children attending school on the Blood Reserve, Council has approved continued funding to support school bus owners for the remainder of the current academic year. This measure ensures that our children will continue to receive reliable transportation to and from school without interruption.
Council recognizes the importance of long-term clarity and stability in the delivery of transportation services, especially those involving our children and their access to education. We continue to undertake a review of our transportation framework to ensure services are comprehensive, safe, effective, and sustainable for our community. This process includes assessing operational structures and contractual arrangements to strengthen service delivery moving forward.
