Superintendent Cameron Shade ordered the closure of all BLOOD RESERVE SCHOOLS EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Please refer to KBE’s OFFICIAL statement posted below.
For immediate release:
Effectively immediately ALL Kainai Board Of Education schools and provincial schools will be closed indefinitely. We are following the directive from Alberta Education Minister Adriana LaGrange and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. KBE school staff and district office staff will continue their day-to-day operations to ensure the safety of our school facilities.
In terms of student progression, KBE will provide a final mark to all students regardless and students will progress to their next grade level next year. However, provincial assessments, such as provincial achievement tests will be cancelled. Diploma exams essential for post-secondary acceptance will continue.
KBE will communicate a move forward plan with parents/guardians. Please refer to KBE Facebook and KBE website for updates.
Sincerely,
Cam Shade Superintendent of Schools Kainai Board Of Education
