Attention: Blood Tribe members
Blood Tribe Emergency Management Team would like to encourage all members who travelled outside the south zone, attended a large gathering or visited with people outside your regular household to go get tested for COVID-19. Whether you are feeling sick or not, BTEMT feels it’s important to take the pro-active approach and get tested, so collectively we can help each other in minimizing the risk of spreading COVID-19.
If you are living on the reserve and would like to get tested, you can do so by going to Blood Tribe Health Centre in Standoff. To set up an appointment with the BTHC, you can call (403) 737-8411. For anyone living off-reserve in surrounding communities, you can contact these facilities listed below:
Cardston – (403) 653-5230
Fort McLeod – (403) 553-5351
Pincher Creek – (403) 627-1230
Lethbridge – (403) 388-6666
Alberta Health Service has made testing available for all Albertans, whether they are showing symptoms or not, and you can also book an appointment online from their website.
Remember, you’ll be required to provide your Alberta Health Care card number when you book an appointment.
However, if you are feeling sick or are showing symptoms of having COVID-19, which include cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever, sore throat or runny nose. Alberta Health Services says, “You MUST self-isolate for 10 days after the onset of symptoms and until your symptoms have resolved (whichever is longer). Under no circumstance should you leave your property during self-isolation.”
Also, remember if you do test positive for COVID-19 or are feeling any of the symptoms, you are required legally to self-isolate for the minimum 10-day period from when you first experienced symptoms or until they are resolved, whichever is longer.
If you have any questions/concerns about COVID-19 or if your symptoms have become worse than you can call Health Link at 811.
