Red Crow Community College is excited to announce that it will begin construction of its new Campus Facility the week of September 14, 2020 at its main campus in Stand Off, Alberta. We will be completing some pile testing which will cause some noise and vibration, but it is nothing to be worried about. The new campus facility, approximately 9,455 square metres (just over 100,000 square feet), will allow the College to deliver existing and new courses and programs in collaboration with other Blood Tribe entities and Campus Alberta institutions through for example, 2+2-degree program, adult upgrading, trades programs and agricultural certificates.

The new Campus facility will house classrooms and workshops, a new state-of-the-art Library and Knowledge Commons, museum and archival spaces, cultural gathering spaces, student academic and counselling spaces, administrative spaces as well as new central spaces for Elders. It will support the long-term enrolment projections of 900 FLE’s within the next 10-15-years.

The new Campus Facility will cost $48 million to construct and will take 22 months to complete. The facility will be open for the September 2022 school year. More information on what you can expect to see in the coming months will be provided soon. Red Crow is committed to hiring Blood Tribe members where possible and will have a variety of opportunities available. If you are interested in working on our project, please contact Jim Plume at St. Mary’s [email protected] and he will put you in touch with us.

If you would like more information about the project, please contact Flora Day Rider, [email protected] and she will forward your request to our Project Director.

Red Crow Community College will continue to support the community through innovative programs delivered through a campus that is infused with, and firmly rooted in, Blackfoot culture.
