Oki Kainaiwa,
This morning the Blood Tribe Emergency Management Team received confirmation from Kainai Board of Education of one (1) case of COVID-19 at Tatsikiisaapo’p Middle School. Blood Tribe officials from KBE, Blood Tribe Department of Health, Indigenous Services Canada – First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, and Blood Tribe Emergency Management are taking all the necessary steps to contain the virus and support the individual during this difficult time. Please be advised that the school was already scheduled to be closed today. We also ask all to respect the privacy of this individual as they focus on their health and recovery. We know that many of you have questions and assure everyone that Blood Tribe Community Health is working quickly in their investigation.
All KBE staff worked very hard to ensure to answer the call to provide a safe environment for all students and staff, as our community faced these extraordinary circumstances. We commend them all for their diligence and ask the community to help support them with encouragement and kindness.
As Blood Tribe officials continue to monitor the situation – important updates will be provided to the community as they are received.
Stay Safe.
