According to Fortis Alberta, there are multiple power outages reported on the Blood Reserve off of Highway 509 as well as in surrounding municipalities.
The cause for the power outages results from various factors of heavy snow, wind and burnt power poles and infrastructure from the grass fire that occurred on Sunday, March 28, 2021.
At this time, Fortis Alberta states on their website that the earliest estimation time for power restoration for the three affected areas will be 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021, for those areas listed above. The other two areas are estimated to have power restoration by 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021, and by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
