Notice sent on behalf of Westwind School Division:
Dear CHS Community, I am sending this letter to let you know that new cases of COVID-19 have been identified at our school.
PLEASE NOTE: This message is for information purposes only – it does not mean your child is required to self-isolate. Students who are impacted by this case and required to self-isolate have already been contacted.
These new cases now bring the total number of confirmed cases at CHS to four. Whenever a student tests positive for COVID-19, AHS rules require all students in each class of that confirmed case to isolate.
Currently there are over one hundred students being directed by AHS to isolate for 14 days as close contacts. We are working to accommodate all of these students so they can continue to learn at home during this time.
I want to emphasize that our students, staff, and community’s health and safety are paramount. We are working closely with Alberta Health Services and assure you that we are taking the necessary steps to protect all students. Our custodial services team has been working hard to conduct enhanced cleaning protocols to ensure our schools continue to be safe places for students to learn.
We remind parents/guardians of students and any staff/visitors/volunteers to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. As a reminder, if you/your child has any of the symptoms of illness listed on the Alberta Health daily checklist, please call Health Link at 811 and stay home/keep your child at home.
