Notice issued on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.
This notice is to inform the Blood Tribe land occupants who will be grazing their grassland parcels, that they must contact the Blood Tribe Land Management (BTLM) Office to notify Agriculture Staff of their Grazing Permittee’s name. The Grazing Agreements will then be printed and land occupants can come to the BTLM Department to sign their Grazing Agreement. Please abide by the Blood Tribe Administration’s “Covid-19 Security Entrance Restrictions” prior to entering the BTLM Office and only one land occupant will be allowed into the BTLM Department Reception area at a time.
The 2021 Grazing Agreement – Payment Schedule has been revised to the following dates: June 30th, July 31st, August 31st, and September 30th, 2021. This amendment is due to the threat of tentative droughts, water source shortages, reductions in animal units, accounting purposes, etc.
For the 2021 Grazing season, there will be no Permittee livestock on the reserve after September 30, 2021. If there are additional animal units brought to the grassland parcels after June 1, 2021, these additions must be documented with a new agreement at the BTLM office, with the end date of September 30, 2021. There will be no additional animal unit requests granted if the grazing capacity has been reached on the permitted grassland parcel.
All permitted grassland fences must be intact prior to the June 1, 2021, start date. Failure to comply with the 2021 Grazing Agreement dates of June 1, 2021 – September 30, 2021, payment schedule, animal units, etc., may result in termination of Grazing Permittee privileges on the Blood Reserve.
Please contact the BTLM Department Office (403-737-8151) regarding your Grazing Agreement or if you have any concerns or questions.
