Blood Tribe Department Of Health COVID-19 Stat Tracker For February 9, 2022

The Blood Tribe Department of Health Inc. will no longer report the vaccinated status of active COVID-19 cases on the Blood Reserve as it no longer serves the purpose of reporting the drop in number of vaccinated cases – while the number of unvaccinated cases rise.
The highly contagious Omicron COVID-19 variant is responsible for the latest surge in cases and the vaccine is not as effective in preventing people from testing positive as it used to be. The good news is that there is a drop in hospitalization rates and deaths, related to how many active cases across the province and on-reserve. This is because the vaccine is highly protective against developing a severe case of COVID-19. However, the more active cases we report, the more hospitalizations and deaths we MAY have. More than ever, we must be diligent!
Please continue to observe public health safety measures: wear masks, limit close contact and large social gatherings; practice frequent hand washing and hand sanitizing; and get tested and vaccinated. These safety measures will help stop the spread and protect you, your family, your community and the vulnerable!
