A partnership by the Blood Tribe and the City of Lethbridge was announced on November 22, 2022, on the creation of an Intergovernmental Health Table to work together to tackle issues affecting both the City of Lethbridge and the Blood Tribe. At the forefront are the health and social challenges that are affecting the quality of life for many Blood Tribe members living in the city such as addictions, housing, homelessness, and socio-economic factors. The Blood Tribe Department of Health will have a seat at the Intergovernmental Health Table alongside City of Lethbridge Mayor, Deputy Premier, Minister of Infrastructure and MLA East, and Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction & Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services. The Table will incorporate Blackfoot Ways of Knowing to help better the lives of Blood Tribe members living in the City of Lethbridge.
