Blood Tribe Land Management

  • PUBLIC NOTICE – April 6. 2023

Please be advised that in respect to Blood Tribe Chief and Council’s decision to transfer the management of the Blood Band Ranch to Blood Tribe Land Management (BTLM) Department’s mandate, the Blood Band Ranch is in a “restoration phase” and is not being grazed for the FY 2023-24. BLM conducts annual “Rangeland Health Assessments” to assess and monitor grassland ecosystem health. Any livestock that are located on these parcels will be impounded in accordance to the “Stray Livestock Bylaw

– No. 02-2008″. The only parcels being utilized are for the Kainai linnii Rematriation Project (Buffalo) located on the east/south of Highway 509 to the river. This Public Notice will also serve as reminder to all tribal livestock producers that their livestock should be in their registered land parcels and again, any stray livestock will be impounded.

In respect to all “rural burial plots” that are located outside of the Blood Reserve Cemeteries, Prior to location selection of any rural burial plots, the BTLM Registry staff are to be contacted to ensure firstly, that the burial plot is not located on registered cultivated acres, forage acres, flood zones, etc. Secondly, the BTLM Geomatics staff will survey and document the burial plot for documentation purposes.

Silver Ridge Construction Company will take over construction. Twin Rink completion has been moved from September 2024 to October 2024 to ensure all construction targets are met and there is no ongoing construction during operation. Storm drain installation will continue next week, and the flow testing has had positive results. Weight loads are currently being determined to complete structural planning. Electrical is in progress and is on schedule.

Blood Tribe Housing is now accepting rental applications for three-bedroom rental units in the St. Mary’s community. Rental Housing applications can be picked up at Blood Tribe Housing.  MONDAY – FRIDAY 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
