Traffic stop results in large seizure of drugs, weapons, and cash

On May 14, 2023, members of the Blood Tribe Police Community Policing Division, with the assistance of the Blood Tribe Police Drug Task Force responded to a report of a possible impaired driver along St. Paul’s Road on the Blood Tribe.

A vehicle and driver matching the description were located and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver blew a FAIL on the alcohol screening device and was arrested.

A search incidental to the arrest was conducted and 64 grams (street value $25,600) of suspected Fentanyl was located inside the vehicle. Additionally, $12,000 Canadian currency, a shotgun, bear spray, and multiple edged weapons were located.

Dewey Dave CROW CHIEF, 43, of the Blood Tribe was charged with 12 offences, including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and numerous firearms, weapons, and driving offences.

CROW CHIEF was brought before a JP and remanded into custody to appear in Cardston Provincial Court later this month.
