Blood Tribe Land Management
- PUBLIC NOTICE – May 31. 2023 Invasive Plant Control
- This notice is to address the concerns of invasive plant species and their spread and infestation on Blood Reserve lands. The Blood Tribe Land Management Department will implement the Integrated Invasive Plant Management Program to organize a strategic plan to manage invasive plant species. For the assessment and treatment of “Common Burdock” it will be through the means of chemical control (spraying) and “Leafy Spurge” will be through a combination of biological and chemical treatment. Due to limited resources, we are only treating/spraying “Common Burdock” within corrals and small pastures on a “First Come, First Served” basis and livestock producers will be priority. “Leafy Spurge” will be treated based on severity of infestation. A waiver will be required to be signed before treatment commences. Please leave your requests with the BTLM Receptionist (403-737-8151). Thank you for your cooperation.

- Notice of Kainai Iinnii Rematriation Project pasture closures
Please be advised that access to all Kainai Iinnii Rematriation Project (KIRP) pastures (formerly Blood Tribe Band Ranch South pastures) and facilities will be restricted or closed to the public until further notice.
An increase in illegal garbage dumping, criminal activities, and trespassing by non-tribal members has been observed in these areas. These activities pose a threat to the health of the Kainai bison herd and preservation of our natural areas. Access to KIRP pastures will only be allowed with prior approval from Blood Tribe Land Management and the KIRP Coordinator. Special access will be given for elders, cultural use, educational use, contractors, and special tours.
