The Blood Tribe Employment and Skills Training (BTEST) department is sponsoring the steer wrestling rodeo event for the late BTEST Director, Wayna Beebe at the 2023 Kainai Indian Days Rodeo on Sunday, July 23, 2023, in Standoff, Ab. The steer wrestling event special will be hosted in union with the Blood Tribe Ag Society to honour Wayna.

Wayna was passionate about her work at BTEST which lasted more than 25 years, including her role as Director since 2006. Through her hard work and dedication, Wayna was the inspiration of the department and was instrumental in the implementation and development of numerous programs at BTEST. Throughout her life, rodeo had always been her passion and is evident in her involvement in the Blood Tribe Ag Society where she spent countless hours making sure every rodeo event was a success.

The sponsored steer wrestling event will have an engraved belt buckle and a $1000 contribution to the cash prize for the winner. This memorial event will include a moment of silence for the late BTEST Director, a barbeque style feast for up to 300 people, and a special speech for Wayna on behalf of BTEST and the Blood Tribe Ag Society. This will take place right after the steer wrestling event on Sunday, July 23, 2023.
