The Blood Tribe Economic Development department is hosting a six-week Youth Entrepreneurship Program where youth will receive training and develop their business ideas. The program consists of 9 high school students from the Blood Tribe that will go through two weeks of training and four weeks in the field where they will operate their businesses.

Throughout the six weeks, guest speakers will provide training sessions to prep the students with business planning, entrepreneurship, financing, and marketing to successfully operate their own businesses. The students will be provided with $500 start-up allowance that will go towards any fees or supplies they may need, any profit the students make will be theirs to keep.

On July 18th, 2023, the Youth Entrepreneurship Program students stood in front of a panel to pitch their business ideas. The students were given 3-5 minutes where feedback was given from the panelists about their business ideas.

Youth Entrepreneurship Program Coordinator Brooke White Quills stated, “This program is a good opportunity for the youth, they are the future.” The Youth Entrepreneurship Program intends to inspire the youth to continue their business goals and train them for future endeavors after they graduate high school.

Come out to support local businesses and artisans on August 4, 2023, from 11AM to 3PM.
