Blood Tribe Housing Hires New Director, Cody Wells

April 24, 2024 – The Blood Tribe Housing department is proud to announce new Director, Siikimiikatoopi – Cody Wells, as of March 8, 2024. Cody has been with the Housing department since 2022, starting as a Housing Relations Officer and later a Repair and Maintenance Supervisor.

Cody’s father is Kenneth Wells and mother is Terri Weasel Fat-Wadsworth. His paternal grandparents are Luke and Sarah Wells; maternal grandparents are Fredrick Weasel Fat Sr. and Verden Weasel Fat. Cody’s wife is Shauna Scout and has three daughters, Meghan Healy/Wells, Peyton Wells and Sara Wells. 

Wells was appointed Co-Acting Director after the departure of former Housing Director, Rachel Tail Feathers who is now a Senior Operations Officer with the Blood Tribe Administration (BTA).

Wells has extensive experience in the contracting industry as a Master Electrician, earning his Journeyman Certificate in 2007 and Master Electrician License in 2013. He said that he has helped build a lot of the homes on the Reserve as an electrician.

In 2022, Wells graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management degree. “I always felt I could make a positive change in the department, that’s why I went back to school”, he stated, “My goal is to advocate and provide quality homes for our people.”

The BTA would like to welcome Cody Wells, BMgt, as the new Blood Tribe Housing Director.
