Sod Turning Ceremony Starts Construction for Kainai Community Parks & Sports Fields

May 6, 2024 – a sod turning ceremony officially kick started the development and construction of the Kainai Community Parks & Sports Fields located near the Blood Tribe Multi-Purpose Building in Standoff, AB.

The park will include baseball diamonds, track and soccer field facility, water park, and skateboard park in addition to the Kainai Twin Rinks facility that is currently under construction.

Representatives from Blood Tribe leadership, Blood Tribe Recreation & Parks, Standoff Community Committee, St. Mary’s Construction, and Hasegawa Engineering attended the ceremony.

Updates will be provided on the on-going progress of the Kainai Community Parks and Sports Fields in the coming months.
