Kakiitaypoyii- Chaz Prarie Chicken/ Blood Tribe- Program Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant Urban Society of Aboriginal Youth Calgary

In March 2024, there was a groundbreaking ceremony for a Indigenous Youth Center, this will be the first of its kind in Calgary. The center is scheduled to open in March 2025.

“Indigenous culture, languages, teachings, they’re important and they’re relevant and we have to find ways to bring them forward with us with the technology that we have now.”

Chaz was instrumental in creating an app for youth to navigate the racism urban indigenous youth may experience. The facility will promote pride of indigenous heritage and Blackfoot Language learning.
