Blood Tribe Police Service Investigates Intimate-Partner Violence Incident
Standoff, Alberta, June 18, 2026
On June 16, 2026, members of the Blood Tribe Police Service Patrols and K9 Unit located an adult female in distress in the St. Paul’s area of the Blood Indian Reserve. Investigation revealed the female was the victim of intimate-partner violence involving a firearm.
Due to the high-risk situation, the RCMP Emergency Response Team assisted in executing a Search Warrant on a property resulting in the arrest of an adult male without incident. Authorities seized a firearm and ammunition from the property.
The 30-year-old male, from the Blood Tribe, who will not be named to protect the victim’s identity, was charged with assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats and firearm-related offences.
The male participated in a Judicial Interim Release Hearing on June 17, 2026, and was released on a Release Order with conditions.
